About the Opportunity
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving meaningful change? We are seeking an experienced Principal Policy Officer (AO7) to join a dedicated team focused on enhancing support services for the community.
In this critical role, you will lead the development and implementation of operational policies and practice guidelines. You will utilise your expertise in research and analysis to provide high-level advice that informs service delivery and supports impactful policy reform.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Leadership: Lead and manage complex operational policy projects from inception through to implementation.
- Strategic Advice: Provide robust policy advice regarding the impacts of proposed reforms on service operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and negotiate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including government entities and community groups, to inform business improvements.
- High-Quality Communication: Draft concise, logical, and high-quality documents such as submissions, reports, and fact sheets.
- Project Management: Monitor project status and manage risks to ensure successful outcomes are delivered on time.
- Team Leadership: Role model leadership behaviours and manage a small team of two direct reports.
What We Are Looking For

- Analytical Skills: Skill in undertaking robust research to gather evidence for complex problem-solving.

- Qualifications: While no mandatory qualifications are required, relevant policy or project management qualifications are highly regarded.
